2ND GRADE INFORMATION:
Earth Day 2025 is Tuesday, April 22, 2025 and this year’s theme is Our Power, Our Planet. The Baxter County Conservation District is sponsoring a coloring contest for all 2nd grade students in our district. Cash prizes will be awarded for 1st place, 2nd place and 3rd place.
All entries from all schools and all grade levels will be considered for one cash prize of $50 for best overall.
RULES:
Must be a 2nd grade student at Mountain Home, Cotter or Norfork Schools;
Must use an official coloring sheet which can be obtained from the Baxter County Conservation District;
Students may use paint, colored pencils, markers or crayons;
Submissions must include student’s name, name of school and teacher’s name on the back of the submission;
Submissions must be turned in to the student’s teacher by April 4, 2025;
Submissions will be picked up by BCCD from the school on April 9, 2025;
Cash awards will be delivered to the winning students on April 17, 2025;
The work must be the original work of the student only;
By submitting an entry, consent is given to use winners’ pictures on the Baxter County Conservations District’s website, in their newsletter, on their Facebook and Instagram pages and/or in local newspapers; and
All submissions will be retained by the Baxter County Conservation District.

Create an iconic poster vividly illustrating this year’s theme of Our Power, Our Planet;
Any size poster board or poster paper may be used;
Media can be flat or two dimensional;
Students may use paint, colored pencils, markers, charcoal or crayons;
Submissions must include student’s name, name of school and teacher’s name on the back of the submission;
Submissions must be turned in to the student’s teacher by April 4, 2025;
Submissions will be picked up by BCCD from the school on April 9, 2025;

Earth Day 2024 Coloring & Poster Contest Winners
The Baxter County Conservation District in celebration of Earth Day 2024 sponsored a Coloring/Poster Contest for 2nd and 5th graders in Baxter County Schools. The following students received cash awards for their entries:
