Thank you to our group of organizers. We could not have completed this project without your support. |
Pollinators are essential to the production of many of the micronutrient rich fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds and oils we eat. In fact, close to 75% of the world's crops producing fruits and seeds for human consumption depend, at least in part, on pollinators for sustained production, yield and quality.
Imagine living in a world without flowers or fruit or even coffee or chocolate. Thanks to the wonderful work of pollinators like bees, butterflies, birds, beetles, bats, wasps and even flies, much of the food we eat and the flowers and plants we enjoy are possible. In 2022, BCCD built the pollinator garden together with the help of a group of organizers. The garden is located in front of our office building. The pollinator garden is blooming and looks absolutely beautiful. During our Tree Beautification Program, we bought new plants to add to the garden and to replace a few plants we lost over the winter. Our goal is to educate the public about the importance of pollinators and would welcome the opportunity to speak to individuals, schools, organizations and/or groups. Please complete the form below if you would like someone to contact you. Please stop by any time and enjoy the bees and butterflies, as well as the arbor and bench. We hope you enjoy watching our garden grow and prosper as much as we do. |
